Compatibility check
The compatibility check answers a common buying question: will this work with what I already have? Visitors choose their smart home hub, battery platform or lens mount and see which products from your account fit – with the source.
In all plans
What it does
- Smart home hubs, ecosystems, wireless protocols, battery platforms, CPU sockets and lens mounts
- “Compatible according to <source>” badge on every card
- Check a single product: yes, no or unknown, with the reason
- Only systems your products have data for
- Chosen system in the address, a normal form without JavaScript
Where the information comes from
affilinode uses the device lists of Zigbee2MQTT, ZHA, deCONZ, Z-Wave JS, Home Assistant, ESPHome, Tasmota and openHAB, the Matter certification, SmartThings and your products’ technical data. If you have overridden or hidden a field yourself, your value applies.
Yes, no or unknown
With product, the box checks one product and answers yes, no or unknown, with the reason and its sources. “No” only appears when the data is conclusive – a different battery platform, a different socket or a Wi-Fi-only device for Zigbee2MQTT, for example. If a list simply doesn’t mention a system, the answer is “unknown”.
Setting it up
system preselects a system, and choose="0" shows only that one without a choice. kind limits which kinds of system can be chosen, type limits the results to one product type. In the block and the shortcode generator you pick from the systems your products have data for.
The chosen system is part of the address, so a result can be shared. Clicks count as box type “Compatibility check” in your reports.
Examples
Choose a smart home hub, results limited to smart plugs.
[affilinode_compat kind="hub" type="smart_plug"]A fixed battery platform without a choice.
[affilinode_compat system="battery:boschprofessional18v" choose="0" type="cordless_drill_driver"]Check a single product.
[affilinode_compat product="…"]Good to know
- Source links only lead to the public device lists, never to Amazon.
- The chosen system and the product being checked go to the affilinode API via your server – without IP addresses or cookies.
- On AMP pages the check is a form that reloads the page with the result.
Which shops you can use depends on the plan.
