Creating an advisor

Under Content → Product advisors you create an advisor and pick a product type. If you like, affilinode drafts a set of questions from the most important data sheet fields: budget, questions about choice and yes/no fields, sliders for numbers and finally “What matters most to you?”.

In the live test you try out answers and see the score and reasons before saving. Then copy the shortcode.

Questions and rules

For each answer you set rules: must-haves such as a technical value, a range, a brand or a price range; bonus points weighted 1 to 10; “the higher (or lower), the better” for a numeric field or the price; and as a bonus your test score or value for money.

For “Why it fits” you can write your own text per rule, with {value} inserting the product’s value. “No preference” can be added as an extra answer without rules.

What visitors see

One question at a time, with a progress bar, back and start over. At the end the best matches appear as cards with “Why it fits”, a match percentage and the “Best choice” badge on the first product. If nothing fits, the advisor relaxes the filters question by question and says what it relaxed.

The answers are part of the address, so a result can be shared. Without JavaScript all questions appear on one page as a normal form.

Statistics

At the bottom of the advisor’s page you see how visitors answer: daily totals per question and answer, plus how often rules had to be relaxed or nothing matched. Only submitted runs on your websites count – not shared links and not the live test.
