Post check and link guard

Products disappear, successors arrive, a disclosure goes missing: the post check keeps an eye on your published posts. It shows where something is wrong, suggests a fix and only changes a post when you click.

In all plans

What it does

  • Hourly check: posts whose boxes show no available offer, sorted by clicks
  • Link guard with the reason and replacement suggestions, replace with one click
  • Notice when a product has a successor
  • Disclosure check before publishing – never blocks
  • Every change with a revision and undo
  • Weekly report by e-mail

Post check and link guard

affilinode → Post check lists the posts whose boxes no longer show an offer in stock. The link guard adds the reason – discontinued, not in stock anywhere for at least three days, dead shop page, only at shops without access, or gone from the shop feed – and sorts by severity and clicks of the last 30 days.

It suggests confirmed successors and alternatives first, then other matching products from your account, each with a reason. “Replace” rewrites the product ID in the post’s affilinode shortcodes and blocks; shortcodes of other plugins are never touched.

Successor available

If a product is still available but a confirmed successor is out, the section “Successor available” groups the affected posts by product and compares old and new. You replace it, add the successor as a second box or as a line “Successor: …”, or ignore the case.

Only documented successors count: your own choice or a source such as Wikidata, manufacturer data or the same model series, always with the same product type and brand. Guesses never appear.

Disclosure check before publishing

For posts with affiliate links – including links added by hand to Amazon, Awin, Tradedoubler, ADCELL, Webgains, eBay Partner Network or AliExpress – the plugin checks for an “Ad” label at the top or an asterisk with an explanation, the Amazon Associates disclosure on the page, rel="sponsored" on every affiliate link, no price history, price alert or deal boxes next to Amazon links without a written exception, and prices in the text without a date.

“Insert notice” and “Add rel="sponsored"” fix this with one click – in the language of the page, with its own wording for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Publishing always works, and the warning can be switched off.

Weekly report

If you like, a weekly report arrives by e-mail on Mondays. It lists the link guard’s new findings and newly released successors, so you don’t have to check every day.

Good to know

  • No post changes without a click. Only if you switch on “Replace automatically if the successor is unambiguous” (off by default) are products that can no longer be bought and have exactly one successor replaced automatically – never again for the same spot after an undo.
  • WordPress saves a revision before every change; “Undo” restores it as long as the post has not been edited since.
  • For the link guard, the plugin sends the title, address and post ID, the product IDs in its boxes and the clicks of the last 30 days to affilinode. You can switch this off under “Post check & weekly report” → “Link guard: suggest replacements”.
  • The disclosure check is no substitute for legal advice.

Which shops you can use depends on the plan.
