Price comparison

The price comparison lists the offers from your partner programmes for one product, for example from Amazon, Awin advertisers or your own WooCommerce shop. The best offer is highlighted, and every row shows when its price was last confirmed.

In all plans

Price comparison with shop, price, shipping, delivery time and price date for each offer
Price comparison with shop, price, shipping, delivery time and price date for each offer

What it does

  • Shop, offer, price, shipping and delivery time in every row
  • “Price updated … ago” below every price, correct even from a page cache
  • eBay offers from the eBay API in their own “On eBay” block
  • Offers per visitor country and an optional country switcher
  • Pack sizes as tabs or as a short note
  • Number of offers, header and “in stock only” per shortcode

Where the offers come from

You add partner programmes in the affilinode dashboard – Amazon, Awin, Tradedoubler, ADCELL, Webgains, your own product feed or your WooCommerce shop, for example. affilinode matches offers to products by ASIN, EAN or brand and model, and adds your website’s tracking ID to every link.

Each offer carries the time its price was last confirmed. The browser turns that into “Price updated 2 hr. ago”, so the text stays right when the page is served from a cache. Without JavaScript and on AMP pages the date and time are shown instead.

eBay always stands apart

Offers from the eBay API appear in a separate, labelled “On eBay” block directly below the price comparison – visually separated, as eBay’s terms require. They are never mixed with other shops, never count as the best price and never get a savings badge.

To show the cheapest eBay offer on purpose, use [affilinode_button shop="ebay"].

Offers for the visitor’s country

With geolocation, visitors see the offers of their own country: the country comes from your CDN’s header, otherwise from the MaxMind GeoLite2 database, otherwise the site’s default country applies. Which shops a country shows and which partner comes first is set per website in the dashboard; shops, prefer and countries override this for a single box.

The “country switcher in the price comparison” also lets visitors pick a country themselves.

Pack sizes

With packs="tabs" the price comparison shows tabs for single items, 2-packs and 3-packs; packs="hint" only adds a note about a lower price per piece – and only when there is a real saving.

Examples

Price comparison with up to five offers (default).

[affilinode_offers id="…"]

Up to eight offers, in-stock only.

[affilinode_offers id="…" limit="8" only_available="1"]

One tab per pack size.

[affilinode_offers id="…" packs="tabs"]

Good to know

  • Prices older than the “Maximum price age” (24 hours by default) are hidden. Amazon prices are never older than 24 hours, and eBay offers disappear six hours after their last check.
  • The price note with its date (“Prices and availability may have changed”) always stays – Amazon requires it.
  • An Amazon offer is only chosen when its link carries your partner tag.
  • affilinode never records Amazon prices. If your account uses Amazon, price signals stay off unless a written exception is confirmed (policy 6(y)).

Which shops you can use depends on the plan.
